I played a bit of rugby in high school. Though due to difficulties at home, I never really had the support or encouragement to seriously focus meaningful time, effort or energy into anything at school….and on top of that also had to work everyday after school to help support my siblings.
I think it was a good thing I did that because it meant my younger siblings had somewhat better opportunities available to them during high school.
Two of them have actually become musicians in their own respects.
One is a percussionist with some sort of "death/slam core" band. They've opened twice for the American band Obituary during their last two NZ tours.
While the other sibling is more of a hobbyist all-rounder musician. Plays guitar, drums, etc…and does vocals, mixing, editing and such.
Both quite talented imo.
