Jasper 48, Sipsey Valley 28
BUHL — Jasper scored 28 straight points to put away Sipsey Valley in a 48-28 victory at Buhl on Friday night.
Jasper's second straight trip to Tuscaloosa County saw the team score a total of 14 touchdowns on its way to two wins.
With the teams tied 21-21 after a hectic quarter and a half, Jasper grabbed the lead with a Lincoln Smothers touchdown pass to Mike Maddox for a 27-21 lead with less than four minutes left until half. The Vikings weren't done as Jasper's JoJo Odom followed with a 23-yard interception return for a score as the Vikings built a a 34-21 halftime lead.
Jasper (2-0) added two more scores in the second half — one passing and one rushing.
Jasper opens region play at home against Decatur next week.
