It's almost that time of year again. Almost time for the smell of fresh cut turf the sounds of high school bands, and the sound of pads hitting. Yes it's almost football season. For me I only really care about one sport and one sport only and that's football. So I sit around and wait and I wait and I wait then finally it's that time of year but then in the blink of an eye it's over. So any senior football players that may visit this site take heed from someone that's been there enjoy your senior year and make the most of it you can cause it will be over before you know it. For any younger football players that may be visiting enjoy the time you have with your teammates and cherish it cause only a small handful ever get to play past high school and believe me when I say it You will miss it. You'll miss suiting up and taking the field. You will miss hitting the opposing player so hard they feel it for a week. Heck you'll even miss the 2 a days (sometimes 3 for us when I played) during the summer heat. Football is there to teach you how to work as a team to accomplish a mission and that mission is to win the game. Do we always accomplish that mission no but do we have fun even in defeat? Yes but while that loss may sting it teaches you that no matter how hard you try sometimes you just can't win them all. So again enjoy the years you have left to play. Take it from someone who has walked in your cleats before. Football only last a few months a year but the memories will last you an entire lifetime.
There is nothing better to me when the band plays your schools fight song to really get you pumped up and ready to go out there and hit someone. Nothing better than the cheerleads getting the crowd pumped up to cheer you on. Nothing better than scoring touchdowns and getting the tackle or the sack. So go out there and give it your all. Band play louder, cheerleaders cheer harder, and players play harder. Play to the whistle and never give up on a play.
