Trent Seaborn is going into 10th grade at Thompson High School.
The attention for Seaborn started at a young age when he won the 7A State title for the Warriors as an eighth grader, throwing five touchdowns in the championship game.
Now Seaborn is getting more attention thrown his way. He was approached by a trading card company with a seven-figure name, image, and likeness deal.
"It is a seven-figure deal for multi-year over the life of the contract," said Jason Seaborn, Trent's father, to WVTM13.
NIL for high schoolers is not allowed in Alabama, so Trent would have to move to a state that allows it to take the money.
Trent turned down the seven-figure deal, returning to Thompson for his sophomore year.
"The reason why I turned it down. I was not worried about all the money; that is going to come in the future if I am blessed enough," Trent Seaborn told WVTM13.
Seaborn hopes to continue his development as a quarterback in the state of Alabama.
"It is just a step towards what I am working for which is to get to college and hopefully get to the NFL," Trent Seaborn said.
Trent started training as a quarterback at a young age when he grew up in Hawaii. That is when he met a family who also had big goals in the football world, the Tagovailoas.
Galu Tagovailoa, Tua's father, told Jason Seaborn that Trent had a special talent at a young age.
"He said he was really impressed with Trent, he said he reminded him of Tua at the same age," Jason Seaborn explained.
The Seaborns came to visit Alabama after the Tagovailoas moved there when Tua was at Alabama. After seeing the football program that Mark Freeman and Thompson had, they knew it was the perfect fit for their son Trent.
Since then, Trent has shined at Thompson High School, a place he does not want to leave.
"I think that one million could turn into 100 million one day," Thompson head football coach Mark Freeman said.
Trent Seaborn has more than 20 offers at the Division One level. His goal right now is to lead his team to another 7A State title in Alabama.
"There is an expression you couldn't pay me a million dollars to do that, well you could not pay him a million dollars to leave this," said Jason Seaborn.
